Vaitheeswaran koil Nadi Jothidam
Nadi astrology, or Nadi jothidam a Hindu Astrology practice, is commonly observed near the Vaitheeswaran koil temple in Tamilnadu. It is rooted in the belief that ancient Hindu sages had the ability to foresee the past, present, and future lives of all individuals. These predictions were recorded by a Tamil sage named Agathiyar, who claimed to have received divine revelations. The original Nadi palm leaves were initially housed in the Tanjore saraswathi mahal library, which is an ancient and extensive library in Tamilnadu. Unfortunately, some of these leaves were destroyed over time, while others were auctioned off during British rule. The surviving leaves eventually made their way into the possession of astrologer families associated with this temple and have been passed down through generations.
History of Vaitheeswaran koil
Nadi astrology, which traces its roots back to vaitheeswarankoil, India, emerged centuries ago through the wisdom and foresight of revered Rishis. These enlightened sages possessed an extraordinary ability to foresee the destinies of individuals worldwide. Through meticulous documentation on palm leaves known as Nadi Josiyam, their profound insights were preserved for generations to come. Nadi Astrologers harnessed the power of this unique script to unlock the secrets of people’s futures.
Vaitheeswaran koil, also known as Thirupullirukku Vellore, is a temple in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is recognized as one of the Navagraha Temples associated with the planet Mars (Angaraka). Legend has it that Lord Shiva cured Angaraka’s skin disease, which led to this temple being included in the Navagraha Temples club. Visitors are encouraged to take a dip in the holy Siddsmirta tank at this temple, believed to possess healing properties for skin diseases.
In ancient times, specifically during the Treta Yuga, Lord Ram and his Brother Lakshmana conducted the final rituals for Jatayu by submerging his ashes at jatayu kundam. This particular place holds great significance as it is well-known for its palm leaf astrology or Nadi astrology. By the 7th century, this temple had earned high regard due to the sacred hymns dedicated to it by revered sait poets Thirunavukarasar and thirugnanasambandhar.
